SQL is the most commonly requested technical skill for business and system analysts.

This course will teach you the key SQL and data management skills you needed to qualify for more business analyst roles.

3 Levels of SQL Mastery

Business analysts must reach Stage 2 to satisfy most job requirements.  The goal of the course is to bring you to Stage 3.

Stage 1: Essential

The basic SQL needed to retrieve and organize data from a single table.

SELECT statement • WHERE clause • GROUP BY clause • HAVING clause • Aggregate Functions (MIN, MAX, COUNT) •  ORDER BY clause • Ascending / Descending

Stage 2: Capable

The intermediate SQL needed to retrieve and organize data from a single table via querying multiple tables.

Uncorrelated Nested Queries / Subqueries • Use mathematical operators with nested queries

Stage 3: Proficient

The advanced SQL needed to retrieve data from multiple tables.

Nested Queries vs. Joins • Cross joins • Inner join • Outer joins • Left outer join • Right outer join • Full outer join

Not Just SQL

Learning SQL opens the window for you to gain a deeper understanding of the data management principles and technologies of enterprise systems.

Data Fundamentals

How data is created, stored, retrieved, and manipulated in enterprise environments and enterprise systems.

Entity Modeling

How business analysts and developers work together to capture, design, build, and populate the data structures needed to house business data.

Database Normalization

The techniques used by companies to ensure system performance while maintainng large data sets in their online transaction processing systems (OLTP).

Enterprise Database Technology

A clear understanding of relational database technologies such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, IBM DB2, SAP Hana and others.

You will receive a comprehensive introduction to these subjects in addition to becoming proficient in SQL.

Course Schedule

You will receive 24 hours of live course instruction over zoom and additional 1-on-1 sessions as needed.

Sunday March 20, 2022 • 1:00 – 4:00 PM EASTERN

We will hold live classes every Sunday between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM Eastern, and work with your schedule for the 1-on-1 support sessions.

You will receive your own account on a shared instance of Microsoft SQL Server containing a large enterprise-level data set.
