#1 Rebuild your resume with the help of ChatGPT
I used ChatGPT to reduce my resume from 4 pages down to 2 pages.
Here are the specific prompts that I used to do this.
NOTE: I've written all my interactions with ChatGPT in a use-case format to help you get acquainted with the format of a use case:
- Emal Prompts: My resume is currently 6 pages long. I need you to help me reduce it down to 1 page. I will paste my current resume here and I want you to provide me with a one-page version. Are you ready for me to paste my resume?
- ChatGPT Responds: Yes, I'm ready. Please paste your resume here, and I will help you condense it down to one page.
- Emal pasts his full resume by copying it from Word and pasting directly into the ChatGPT window.
- ChatGPT throws an error: Character limit exceeded.
- Emal prompts: Here is the experience section of my resume.
- Emal pastes the experience section of his resume.
- ChatGPT responds with a condensed version of Emal's experience.
- Emal copies ChatGPT's response and pasts ChatGPT's response into MS Notepad to strip the text of all formatting
- Emal copies the clean text and pasts the text into the Word document of his condensed resume.
- Emal applies the formatting to the Word document to make the formatting of the experience section consistent with the rest of the resume.
